After N Series, E Series and X Series , Nokia recently announced the upcoming availability of Nokia C series smartphones. The first C series phone hitting the market will be the Nokia C5. The Nokia C5 is just another S60 V3 handset with average hardware. The C series handsets are believed to be a part of Nokia Core range. The naming is also explained as  Nokia’s new strategy. All future Nokia phones will be named with one English letter followed by a single number. This type of naming will help customers to understand the series of phone to which it belongs and the average level of features it might have. We can see similar naming convention Nokia Entertainment series X3 and X6. However, the surprising fact is that we can only have around 250 phones by this method. Anyways Nokia C5 is a mid rage phone in C series.  It has a very impressive  lightweight design with stainless steel finish.

LG started this trend by launching Cookie in early 2009.  Cookie phone received huge response from public, and it crossed more than 1 million in sales. Samsung followed LG and launched Star and Corby series. The Samsung Corby series  surpassed LG cookie and other touch screen phones in recent months. The main attraction of Corby is its low price, better specifications and youthful design. LG can’t sit back and watch Samsung stealing their market share. So now they are ready for another competition with a new version of Cookie touch screen phone. This phone called LG Cookie PEP, is also known as LG POP in several other countries. LG promises the price of LG Cookie PEP to be competitive and affordable. The device comes with social networking  and instant messaging that would attract youngsters. While 3G is still in its infancy stage in India, BSNL yesterday moved to the 4th generation technology by launching WiMax at Cochin area Kerala. Those who don’t have the provision to take wired BSNL connection can opt for BSNL WiMax. The easy to access WiMax technology provides high wireless broadband at customer premises. The BSNL WiMax network is capable of providing internet speed around 33 mbps. At initial phase, BSNL WiMax users in Cochin will get to speed up to 2 mbps, which will be later upgraded to higher speeds. BSNL has announced attractive tariff plans as a part of the launch.
