Now there are several mobile browsers in the market. Most of us know Opera mini, Safari mobile and other default mobile browsers in our handsets. However, there are few other mobile web browser applications, those in some terms are better than the default web browsers. For example, Skyfire and BOLT are two apps that can stream YouTube, MetaCafe and other streaming videos within web pages. Whereas Opera mini and others open an external media player to play FLV videos. Skyfire is completely free and works with Windows mobile, Android, and Symbian handsets. The new version of the browser, Skyfire 2 is now available for Android devices. Skyfire 2 introduces  features like multi-touch, SkyBar, visual tabs etc. that makes browsing much better on Google Nexus One and other latest Android phones.

Nokia today announced Nokia X2, another member to their Xseries family after Nokia X6 and Nokia X3. Nokia X2 is an entry level mobile phone targeting customers looking for good quality camera phone at lower price. The device is specially designed for customers in India. Nokia X2 is a perfect multimedia handset with dedicated music keys, external speakers, 3.55 mm standard headphone jack, FM radio, expandable memory up to 16GB, etc.

Research In Motion (RIM) hinted on the development of Blackberry OS 6.0,  the upcoming OS that will power existing and new BlackBerry smartphones. The present version, Blackberry OS 5.0 was released at the end of last year, and is now available for Blackberry Storm, Storm 2, Bold and other smartphones. The new Blackberry operating system will offer a combination of social media, multimedia and business productivity features.   RIM hasn’t provided any details  of phones that will get BlackBerry 6.0 upgrade  or the dates around which final version would be available for download.

Nokia revealed Nokia N8, forthcoming flagship product based on the Symbian ^ 3  OS.   The Nokia N8 is the first smartphone to include the latest touch OS from Symbian foundation, and it uses a customized Nokia UI. Nokia demonstrated Nokia N8 when they disclosed the preview of   Symbian ^ 3  OS, last year.  The remarkable feature among the specifications of Nokia N8 is the availability of a 12MP camera with Xenon flash and HD video recording at 720p. Nokia N8  also includes for TV out and an HDMI port for the first time in a GSM phone. The greatest attraction of Nokia N8 is its price. Nokia N8 costs far less than 12 MP phones like Samsung Pixon 12, Sony Ericsson Satio,  and most other mobile phones including the Nokia N97.

Nokia today announced a new C series smartphones Nokia C6 at a press event in Finland. Nokia C6 is placed just above the first Cseries phone Nokia C5, which is expected to hit markets by Q2 of 2010. The Nokia C6 has a design and specs very similar to Nokia 5800 and few other Symbian touch phones. The notable change in Nokia C6 is the availability of a QWERTY keypad and enhanced social media connectivity. Nokia C6 low price smartphone based on Symbian S60 V5 platform. Therefore it will run all applications crafted for the latest Nokia touch series, available at Ovi store. The innovative home screen design of Nokia C6 let users to access contacts, update social websites, email, important apps in just few clicks.

Nokia today announced Nokia E5, the latest Eseries smartphone after their adoption of the new naming convention. The Nokia E5 is a Symbian S60 V3 mobile phone with QWERTY keypad and a particular Eseries design. The 5MP camera, OS and some other specifications Nokia E5 looks almost similar to E72, and Nokia E63 to some extent.  However, the new device gives more importance social networking and messaging. Nokia says that E5 is suited for professionals who are looking for a phone with business and social connectivity features. Nokia E5 is low price alternative to E72 and other recent Eseries devices. Being a business centric phone, Nokia E5 gives importance to corporate Email and connectivity.

Apple today announced the most awaited iPhone OS 4.0 at a press event in US. The iPhone OS 4.0 includes around 100 new features. The prominent feature among them is the availability of multi-tasking. Multi-tasking will be valid for around 7  necessary services, which can be used by developers for new apps and additional features in existing applications. Apple also announced a new advertising model called iAd based on iPhone apps. Apple iPhone OS 4.0 will be available for  iPod touch 3rd generation, iPad, iPhone 3G S and upcoming iPhone 4G/HD. Apple iPhone 3G and 2nd generation iPod’s also get some features of the iPhone OS 4.0, but not multi-tasking. The developer version of iPhone OS 4.0 download is now live at Apple website.  The final build of the iPhone OS 4.0 will be pushed to devices by June of this year.
