Few months back Motorola released DEXT(CLIQ in US), their first Android device with a special widgetised user interface called the MOTOBLUR. Today they have announced another phone, the Motorola Backflip with same MOTOBLUR technology included. MOTOBLUR is shaped over Android OS to enhance corresponding mobile devices, more friendly with social networking and internet access. The same widget system has been employed in the new Motorola Backflip . The Mortola Backflip users can access web updates easily from the phone home screen with help of widgets. Motorola Backflip was in the news for the last few months. The device was earlier called the Motorola Motus. As the name indicates, this device comes with a reverse flip slider for including full QWERTY keypad. Motorola Backflip price and plans for US will be available by the first quarter of 2010.

Google’s own mobile phone Nexus One has already grabbed much attention from public. Each day we are getting leaked photos and videos of the device though blogs and websites. As we predicted in our earlier articles, the price of Google Nexus One phone is now almost confirmed as 530USD unlocked. US customers will have the option to get the device at subsidized price from T-mobile. Google is expected conduct an Android event on January 5 for the launch of Nexus One. Reports claim that the phone will be available online at google.com/phone, thereafter. The device will be manufactured by HTC corporation and marketed by Google. Google phone will be powered by Android Operating system 2.1. Since the launch of Android operating system and later the Chrome OS, we were expecting Google to release a mobile phone. Google recently made a partnership with Verizon wireless and Motorola to make Droid series of high end handsets. So we thought there are no further plans for Google to make its own mobile device. As per popular gadget blogs, Google already released the so called Google Nexus One phone to its employees around the globe. Google phone will be manufactured by HTC Corporation who already has the credit several successful Android devices. It will have one of the fastest mobile processor on the world, Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHZ. The Google phone is a GSM device sold unlocked. Dell, the famous computer manufacturer announced their plans to join the Smartphone race by officially unveiling Dell mini 3. We earlier covered the unofficial appearance of Dell mini 3 in China. The official press release today confirmed the upcoming release of Dell mini 3 to China and Brazil. Dell mini 3 is a Android phone. Specifications of the devices include 3.15 mega pixel cameras, 3.5 inch touch screen, 3G, Wi-Fi GPS etc. They have also mentioned that they have tie-up with few telecom companies in US, Europe and some other Asian countries that would be used to launch Dell mini 3 in those markets.

Acer is known for their cost effective laptops and netbooks on Microsoft Windows platform. Only few of us know that they also have mobile phones based Windows mobile operating system. Last month they released Acer neoTouch smartphone with the launch of Windows mobile 6.5. Acer neoTouch is now available in selected markets for a price of around 520USD. Now Acer is into Android phone market with the launch of Acer Liquid smartphone. Acer Liquid is the the first Android device to include Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Major features of this device includes Acer user interface 3.0, 5 mega pixel autofocus camera with LED flash, upto 32GB expandable card slot, 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen display etc. Liquid will be initially shipped with Android OS v1.6, and there would be chance for upgrade to OS 2.0 later.
Motorola Milestone Android phone announced in India

We earlier predicted that there would be a GSM variant of Motorola Droid phone that is made specially for Verizon customers in US. GSM variant of Motorola Droid will be called Motorola Milestone. The specifications and price of Motorola Milestone will be almost similar to the US version, but free Google navigation and some other services will not be available. Motorola Milestone is now available for pre-booking in Vodafone and O2 online stores in UK and Germany. They also leaked the price of Motorola Milestone in Germany in Euros . So when converting, the price of Motorola Milestone in India would be ~34000 INR.

Recent studies showed that Google Android will overtake many other smartphone operating systems including iPhone, Blackberry ,Web OS , Intel moblin OS etc. and place itself just below Nokia Symbian by the end of 2012. Android OS also proved that its well suited for netbooks. The 7 month growth of Android is amazing.
