Videocon group, the popular consumer electronic company in India announced  their GSM mobile service in Tamilnadu area. Videocon GSM service was earlier under the brand datacom solution. The re-branded provider, Videocon mobile communications will commence its GSM services from March 27. Videocon has PAN India license for setting up GSM services. The service will be available in Kerala, Punjab, Haryana, Tamilnadu and other telecom circles in India. Videocon is the 13th mobile service provider in India after Tata Docomo and Uninor. They announced attractive traffic plans for calls and value added services.

Those who don’t have the provision to take wired BSNL connection can opt for BSNL WiMax. The easy to access WiMax technology provides high wireless broadband at customer premises. The BSNL WiMax network is capable of providing internet speed around 33 mbps. At initial phase, BSNL WiMax users in Cochin will get to speed up to 2 mbps, which will be later upgraded to higher speeds. BSNL has announced attractive tariff plans as a part of the launch.

Virgin mobile, the popular youth telecom brand of India has entered in GSM services. Virgin currently operates established CDMA network with its partners Tata Tele services.  Virgin Mobile GSM network announced on January 22 is available across Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu telecom circles. Virgin mobile offers two prepaid tariff plans. The first one is a daily rental plan per minute plan and other is per second plan.  Interested users in supported states can get a  Virgin mobile prepaid SIM card with lifetime validity for 49 rupees. Its is requested to recharge SIM with minimum 10RS after activation.
