Finally, MNP has become a reality in India. MNP or Mobile Number portability let users to change mobile network without changing their number. So those who kept their connection only for the sake of the number can now switch to a different operator of their choice. In India, Airtel is the largest mobile provider, and they manage around 30% of connections out of 650 million. New GSM providers like Tata Docomo, Uninor, Videocon, were waiting for the MNP launch to take their subscriber base to the next level. Today MNP was launched in Haryana, and it will be available in other parts of the country by January 2011. BSNL and Tata Docomo has announced attractive offers and tariff plans for customers willing to switch to their network using MNP. Tata Docomo 3G tariff plans will be announced on November

Airtel, Reliance, Idea, BSNL and almost all other mobile phone networks in India followed the trail and that ended up in a mobile tariff war in India. So far, they have managed to add around 40 million customers to their network. As per the latest announcement, Tata Docomo is setting up for 3G rollout in India. On coming November 5, they will be become the first private service provider in India with commercial 3G service. Tata Docomo’s parent company NTT Docomo is the initiators of the 3G in Japan, long back in 2001.
BSNL WiMax launched in Kerala

Those who don’t have the provision to take wired BSNL connection can opt for BSNL WiMax. The easy to access WiMax technology provides high wireless broadband at customer premises. The BSNL WiMax network is capable of providing internet speed around 33 mbps. At initial phase, BSNL WiMax users in Cochin will get to speed up to 2 mbps, which will be later upgraded to higher speeds. BSNL has announced attractive tariff plans as a part of the launch.

BSNL 24 mbps and 16 mbps broadband tariff

To counter this , BSNL today announced its plan to roll out 16 mbps broadband connection in selected Indian states . They also reveled details of the first 24 mbps broadband in India .Lighting fast 24 mbps BSNL broadband will let its users to browse web pages ,download or stream music , movies faster than it was before . Broadband speed beyond 8 kbps to 24 bps is expected to boost the IPTV and HDTV streaming business in India . BSNL has partnered with Siemens to upgrade its current ADSL broadband network to world class VDSL network . This association allows BSNL to provide broadband speed from 16mbps to upto 24mbps .

RS 4999 :50GB download at 16GB .
Similar RS 4999 pm 16 mbps broadband tariff plan from BSNL comes with 150GB download and 300 free calls . Any furthear download (mb) will be charged at 15 pisa for night and 30 pisa during day time .
BSNL 24 mbps broadband tariff plan .
One of the first such facility in India ,BSNL provides 24 mbps broadband at 8999 INR with 150 GB monthly download limit . This tariff plan also includes 500 free calls per month . More details and available cities will be announced soon .

GPRS settings for Airtel, BSNL, Vodafone and Idea

And if you have missed the settings message, just call the customer care number. They would resend it for you. Your phone must be switched ON for receiving GPRS settings.
