HTC today announced a new Android handset HTC Desire Z along with the HTC Desire HD – in London. Similar to the HTC Desire HD, the Desire Z is made of a single piece of aluminum. The Z like keypad hinge in HTC Desire Z is the reason behind its name. The HTC Desire Z is the first HTC Android phone * with the QWERTY keypad (outside US). Desire Z will be shipped with Android OS 2.2 Froyo and a custom HTC Sense UI over it.  The new generation HTC Sense UI in HTC Desire Z has HTCSense.com support,  landscape mode, redesigned mail app with unified inbox, and other improved widgets. HTC Desire Z is equipped with a 3.7 inch capacitive touch screen of QVGA resolution.

HTC  Today announced a new smartphone HTC Desire HD -at a special press event held in London. The HTC Desire HD, as the name indicates is an upgraded version of the HTC Desire, and is a mobile device based on Android OS.  Many people were waiting for an Asian-European version of the HTC EVO 4G handset currently available with the Verizon network in USA. The HTC Desire HD is a  dual band 3G -quadband GSM phone that supports almost all networks in the world. HTC Desire HD has a huge 4.3 inch display (WVGA) that support multi-touch gestures. The similar screen size only available in HTC EVO and HTC HD2. Desire HD  is made of a single piece aluminum, and it has an 8MP camera in the back side. HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z are the first two handsets to get the new HTCsense.com services. Features like Dolby mobile and SRS virtual sound makes it the best mobile entertainer available in the market.

HTC is planning to launch HTC Wildfire Android phone in India. The HTC Wildfire is a minimal version of HTC Desire, which also has design elements from the Nexus One from Google. Similar to HTC HD mini Windows mobile handset, the Wildfire is a low cost alternative for the original handset. Already available in UK and European countries, the HTC Wildfire is an HTC sense enabled Android phone with social media connectivity. The device is best suited for people in India looking for a mini version of Nexus One or Desire.

We earlier covered the  price and specifications of the Motorola Droid  smartphone that is expected to be announced on Verizon Wireless in coming few days. As per the latest information, the Droid name will not be attached to any single mobile device. However, Droid will be a series of Android smartphones for Verizon network, made by different manufactures and supported extensively by Google. Like Motorola Droid from Motorola Inc, HTC will contribute Droid Eris to the series. HTC Droid Eris was earlier known as HTC Desire. This mobile phone would not be a competitor for Motorola Droid considering its processing power and other features. The preliminary specifications of HTC Droid Eris includes 3.2 inch capacitive touch screen, 528MHz Qualcomm CPU, 5 megapixels auto focus camera and expandable memory.
