LG started this trend by launching Cookie in early 2009.  Cookie phone received huge response from public, and it crossed more than 1 million in sales. Samsung followed LG and launched Star and Corby series. The Samsung Corby series  surpassed LG cookie and other touch screen phones in recent months. The main attraction of Corby is its low price, better specifications and youthful design. LG can’t sit back and watch Samsung stealing their market share. So now they are ready for another competition with a new version of Cookie touch screen phone. This phone called LG Cookie PEP, is also known as LG POP in several other countries. LG promises the price of LG Cookie PEP to be competitive and affordable. The device comes with social networking  and instant messaging that would attract youngsters. LG has launched media campaign with John Abraham, Genelia D’souza and Abhay Deol to promote the new LG Cookie PEP.

Samsung Lindy price and specifications Samsung announced the availability of its new handset under the name M5650 Lindy. On hearing the name we feel like a totally different phone. But on seeing the pictures of the new Samsung Lindy, you will realize that Lindy is nothing but Samsung Corby with feature modifications. We have seen similar implementation in Samsung Star with the launch of Star WiFi. Guys at the head office of Samsung electronics are confusing customers by launching several touch phones each month. It might be a game plan from Samsung to create a virtual increase their market share. But Samsung is pretty successful with their recent touch phones like Star and Corby, both touched several millions in global sales. Samsung Star WiFi announced

Samsung today announced WiFi enabled version of Star series of touch screen mobile phones .Star already crossed 5 million mark in sales , like LG Cookie which also comes with similar specs  .The major disadvantage of Samsung Star touch phone for not having WiFi  had been fixed in this update . Making it one of the best entry level touch phone ,Samsung Star WiFi boasts of all the specifications of the initial model   including 3.2 mega pixel camera , 3 inch touch screen with Samsung TouchWiz UI ,FM radio with RDS , expandable memory upto 8GB ,music player and a good web browser .With WiFi the price of the phone will see a slight increase to around  250 USD ( apprx. 12000 in India ) . It will be marketed as Samsung S5230W Star WiFi in  Africa ,India and other Asian countries.

Samsung today officially unveiled new S3650 Corby touch phone after Samsung Jet and Samsung Star budget touch phones. Our first impressions on Samsung Corby is that its basically a phone well suited for ladies and young students. It looks more compact than Samsung star and is available in multiple colors. Samsung S3650 Corby specifications includes a 2 mega pixels camera, 2.8 inch QVGA capacitive touchscreen, upto 8GB expandable memory , Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and 2G connectivity. Samsung S3650 Corby will be launched in Europe this month with initial pricing of 150 euro. Its really high when compared with the specs of LG cookie and Samsung Star 2G that offer 3 mega pixel camera at a lower rate than Corby .
