Apple today announced the upcoming availability of their web tablet called the iPad. Apple iPad is one of the most anticipated announcement of this year. Like any other web tablet, the Apple iPad more focus on internet and multimedia. We can call iPad as a bigger version of Apple iPhone and iPod. The device includes an enhanced version of Apple iPhone OS. That is you can run almost all iPhone applications in iPad with minor upgrades. Apple also announced that they will be releasing a software development kit for developing applications for iPad. An emulator for running iPad applications will be available at Apple.com form today. Apple iPad is pretty large device with capacitive multi-touch screen of 24.6cm measured diagonally . The device specification includes a 1GHZ processor with graphics processor. It is available in 16-32-64 GB storage based on price and configuration.

Virgin mobile GSM prepaid plans and offers

Virgin mobile, the popular youth telecom brand of India has entered in GSM services. Virgin currently operates established CDMA network with its partners Tata Tele services. Virgin Mobile GSM network announced on January 22 is available across Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu telecom circles. Virgin mobile offers two prepaid tariff plans. The first one is a daily rental plan per minute plan and other is per second plan. Interested users in supported states can get a Virgin mobile prepaid SIM card with lifetime validity for 49 rupees. Its is requested to recharge SIM with minimum 10RS after activation.

Samsung Shark price and specification

Samsung these days introduce phones in series. We have seen the acceptance of this strategy through Smasung Star and Smasung Corby models. The latest among them is Samsung Shark series. The first three members of the family, Samsung S5350 Shark 1, Samsung S5550 Shark 2, Samsung S3550 Shark 3 were introduced today. Smasung Shark phones are designed to sell at lower price. However they are above average on specification side. One of the notable feature in Samsung Shark phone is the availability of secondary video camera. Both Smasung Shark1 and Smasung Shark 2 have 3G on board. Whereas Shark 3 is comparatively lower priced and without 3G. All devices are equipped with decent camera and storage facilities.

Virgin Mobile vFLASH mobile broadband tariff plans

Virgin mobile, the joint venture of Virgin group and Tata Teleservices today announced vFLASH mobile broadband service across India. Virgin mobile India has a youth brand appeal. They offer attractive tariff plans for calls and SMS over their CDMA network across the country. The mobile broadband service is offered as a part of their expansion strategy into data services. Users can access broadband services using the supplied vFLASH data card with each connection. One of the partner of the venture, Tata Teleservices currently offer mobile broadband service under Photon Plus brand. Virgin Mobile vFLASH data card can offer a medium of 3.1 mbps speed in selected networks with backward compatibility.

Dell announced Android based web tablet

Dell today showcased their upcoming Android based web tablet. They haven’t mentioned the name. But the device is expected to be called Dell Slate. We currently have Archos 5 web tablet with Android OS packed inside. The Dell slate shown at the press event is a similar 5 inch device with camera. This is the first web tablet to include a camera with LED flash. The Dell tablet is bigger than all latest smartphones including HTC HD2 and smaller than netbooks. Dell also confirmed that the tablet will contain option to insert a SIM card. So that would make the Dell slate one of the largest sized mobile phone in market. The device would be able to install Android applications, take pictures, access web and social media, on a large wide screen.

Motorola Backflip price and specification

Few months back Motorola released DEXT(CLIQ in US), their first Android device with a special widgetised user interface called the MOTOBLUR. Today they have announced another phone, the Motorola Backflip with same MOTOBLUR technology included. MOTOBLUR is shaped over Android OS to enhance corresponding mobile devices, more friendly with social networking and internet access. The same widget system has been employed in the new Motorola Backflip . The Mortola Backflip users can access web updates easily from the phone home screen with help of widgets. Motorola Backflip was in the news for the last few months. The device was earlier called the Motorola Motus. As the name indicates, this device comes with a reverse flip slider for including full QWERTY keypad. Motorola Backflip price and plans for US will be available by the first quarter of 2010.

Nexus One price and specifications

Google’s own mobile phone Nexus One has already grabbed much attention from public. Each day we are getting leaked photos and videos of the device though blogs and websites. As we predicted in our earlier articles, the price of Google Nexus One phone is now almost confirmed as 530USD unlocked. US customers will have the option to get the device at subsidized price from T-mobile. Google is expected conduct an Android event on January 5 for the launch of Nexus One. Reports claim that the phone will be available online at google.com/phone, thereafter. The device will be manufactured by HTC corporation and marketed by Google. Google has also designed the interface of the device. The full specifications of Nexus One are also available now.
