The latest among them is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play smartphone that was announced today at the MWC in Barcelona. Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is an Android smartphone designed for gamers. It is one first Sony PlayStation certified mobile gaming device and the first for its kind in the Android mobile range. The device has a hinged slide-out gaming pad with suitable keys.

The Sony Ericsson Yendo was announced along with Sony Ericsson Xperia X8. The device has an exterior design similar to Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini. However, Yendo uses a special Sony Ericsson OS with support for Java based application. The common feature of Sony Ericsson Walkman phones, like Walkman music player, TrackID music recognition, SenseMe, shake control is also available with Yendo Walkman phone. Sony Ericsson Yendo is basically a low cost touch input music phone, and it supports only 2G networks.

Earlier known as Sony Ericsson Shakira, Xperia X10 has pretty old Android 1.6 OS with custom Sony Ericsson interface that is being used in other models. The Sony Ericsson UI widgets like TimeScape and MediaScape are also available with Xperia X8. This quadband GSM, 3G phone would be available at a very competitive price as per the initial reports.

The announcement took place along with Sony Ericsson Vivaz pro, at MWC 2010. The original Xperia X10 announced last year is the upcoming flagship product of Sony Ericsson running Android operating system.Both Xperia X10 mini and Xperia X10 pro have almost similar design of Xperia X10, but are smaller in size, price and of comparatively lower specifications. Xperia X10 mini has only touch navigation. Whereas the Xperia pro has slide-out QWERTY keypad for easy typing and editing. Both have 2.55 inch TFT touch screen 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 65K color support.

The original SonyEricsson Vivaz was announced in the last month. The best feature of Vivaz is its capability to record high definition videos of up to 720p. The change in the new Vivaz pro is the availability of QWERTY keypad. This enables faster messaging and working with office productivity tools. Sony Ericsson Vivaz and Vivaz pro comes with the latest Symbian S60 V5 touch user interface. The device has social media applications pre-installed. Sony Ericsson hasn’t announced price of both Vivaz and Vivaz pro models. However they have confirmed the lunch date to be around the second quarter of this year.
