Soon after the release of mighty Samsung Galaxy S for customers, Samsung yesterday announced the upcoming Galaxy 3 Android phone at CommunicAsia Singapore. The Samsung Galaxy 3 is an Android 2.1 based phone with Samsung TouchWIZ UI 3.0 over it. There is nothing much to discuss about it features, but it would be the first Android handset to feature a WQVGA screen. The phone is designed to be in a mid-range below Galaxy S with basic social media connectivity and multi-media facilities.

Samsung Wave 2 and Wave 2 pro Bada phones introduced
Samsung today introduced two new Wave phones, Samsung S5250 Wave 2 and S5330 Wave 2 Pro. The Wave series includes Samsung’s propriety Bada OS, and its first used in Samsung Wave S8500. The Samsung Wave 2 and Samsung Wave 2 pro has identical design parameters. The only difference is in Wave 2 pro, a QWERTY slide-out keypad. However, both Wave 2 phones have large changes in specifications when compared with the original Samsung Wave. Samsung Wave 2 and Samsung Wave 2 phones just only have 2G connectivity and their display is far inferior to Super AMOLED display in original Wave. It sees that thee production low cost Bada phones has started with Samsung Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro.
Samsung i5500 Corby phone with Android OS
The Samsung Corby series is top selling entry level touch screen mobile range in India and several other world countries. However the touch and browsing in Samsung Corby not so impressive as you might think. Overall there was the need of a good mobile operating system. Today Samsung announced their first Corby series phone with Androd OS. The new Samsung i5500 Corby (Also known as Galaxy 5) packs latest Android 2.1 Eclair release and it is expected to get an upgrade to Froyo. Samsung Galaxy 5 has similar design and size of the very basic S3650 Corby, but the internal specifications are somewhat different.

Samsung announced first Bada phone Wave
Samsung today announced first Bada based mobile device called S8500 Wave at MWC Spain. Bada is Samsung’s home grown operating system. The Bada in Korean stands for ocean. So that might be the ocean of features, applications, phones or whatever Samsung plans with its OS. Samsung has proved this with the very first Bada phone. Though, the application count may seem low at this point, the hardware specification of Wave is promising. Samsung Wave includes a new 3.3 inch AMOLD capacitive touch screen with 16M color support and 480 x 800 pixels resolution. Wave is one of the first device to include Bluetooth 3.0 that provides much faster data transfers. The device would be quite fast as it packs the new ARM 1GHZ processor.

Samsung Corby phones price and specification comparison

Samsung Bada mobile OS screenshots and features
We earlier covered Samsung’s plan to launch its own mobile operating system called Bada. Bada in Korean means Ocean. By this name Samsung projects the ultimate possibilities of its OS. They have already released the developer tools for Bada OS. Bada powered mobile devices will hit the market by the first quarter of 2010. Thereafter Samsung would drop the use of Windows mobile OS and Symbian OS from their smartphones to replace them with Bada OS. Today we got few screenshots of a Samsung device using the Bada OS. The interface of the OS looks like a combination of Nokia’s Symbian OS V5, Android OS and Samsung TouchWiz. Now the only question is about its supports on hardware and software development perspectives.
