Verizon Wireless in US and Motorola announced the upcoming availability of Droid X smartphone. The new Droid X be the successor of Motorola Droid (Also Milestone outside US) which is currently one of the most popular handsets of Verizon. Based on Android OS 2.1, the Droid X joins the league of HTC HD2 and HTC EVO 4G in terms of its screen size. The 4.3 inch capacitive touch screen of Droid X has 854 x 480 resolution and a new improved version of MotoBlur UI. Equipped with a 8 MP snapper, the Droid X records HD videos at 720p and has an HDMI output. Verizon has announced a very competitive price plan and iPhone 4 like upgrade option for all potential customers of Droid X.

Motorola Backflip price and specification

Few months back Motorola released DEXT(CLIQ in US), their first Android device with a special widgetised user interface called the MOTOBLUR. Today they have announced another phone, the Motorola Backflip with same MOTOBLUR technology included. MOTOBLUR is shaped over Android OS to enhance corresponding mobile devices, more friendly with social networking and internet access. The same widget system has been employed in the new Motorola Backflip . The Mortola Backflip users can access web updates easily from the phone home screen with help of widgets. Motorola Backflip was in the news for the last few months. The device was earlier called the Motorola Motus. As the name indicates, this device comes with a reverse flip slider for including full QWERTY keypad. Motorola Backflip price and plans for US will be available by the first quarter of 2010.

Motorola Milestone Android phone announced in India

We earlier predicted that there would be a GSM variant of Motorola Droid phone that is made specially for Verizon customers in US. GSM variant of Motorola Droid will be called Motorola Milestone. The specifications and price of Motorola Milestone will be almost similar to the US version, but free Google navigation and some other services will not be available. Motorola Milestone is now available for pre-booking in Vodafone and O2 online stores in UK and Germany. They also leaked the price of Motorola Milestone in Germany in Euros . So when converting, the price of Motorola Milestone in India would be ~34000 INR.

Google and Android developer community announced the next generation Android OS 2.0 that will power upcoming smartphones. Recent studies showed that Google Android will overtake many other smartphone operating systems including iPhone, Blackberry ,Web OS , Intel moblin OS etc. and place itself just below Nokia Symbian by the end of 2012. Android OS also proved that its well suited for netbooks. The 7 month growth of Android is amazing.
