Mozilla is at present the second largest browser maker in the world with its Firefox web browser. Firefox browser is the output of an open source project that is intended to work on several operating systems including Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems. The major advantages of Firefox are its capability to load web pages faster and customization possibilities with the use of plugins or Addons The large number of available Addons makes it more than a browser. It’s a long term urge from mobile users for a mobile version of Firefox. Mozilla has been working on the same from the last few years. The Firefox mobile browser named Fennec is now almost nearing its completion. Currently there are two test versions of Fennec available for download, Fennec beta for Nokia Internet tablets and Fennec Alpha for Windows mobile. The browser made for the Nokia Maemo Linux platform and Windows mobile look alike the ones found on iPhone 3G S and Blackberry devices in features. Firefox mobile displays the page suggestions when something is entered in the URL bar. A list of favorite and recently opened web pages are shown below that. Users can search Google,Yahoo,Twitter, Amazon and Wikipedia using the inbuilt tabs at the bottom of the Fennec browser. For this enter, any term on the URL box and select the search website required from the tabs.
Tabbed browsing is another feature of Firefox mobile browser. As you can see below, the user can open or close new tabs from the left pane. The most important feature of Firefox mobile is the Addons itself. Mozilla has opened a dedicated web page for Firefox mobile Addons. The availability of Addons is limited now, but is growing in a faster rate.
One the right side there’s a quick boomarking button, forward-backward menus and settings. The setting tab of Fennec mobile is something similar to the original Firefox web browser for desktop computers.
There is a download menu, preferences on Javscript ,images, privacy security, etc. and the Addons. Users can opt to remember password or clear everything at the end of browsing. Overall the latest Firefox mobile edition is extremely satisfying. Finger gestures to zoom slide web pages are also available. The page takes little time to refresh depending on the processor and technology of the mobile device. All most all Maemo devices including the latest Nokia N900 internet tablet also supports Firefox mobile. The support for Windows mobile adds a larger set of mobile phones to the list.

Firefox mobile would be a strong competitor for Skyfire, Opera mobile 10 , Opera Mini 5, BOLT and other browsers on Windows mobile platform. Mozilla is expected to announce Fennec for Nokia devices by the first quarter of 2010, and other versions thereafter.
