We earlier covered Samsung’s plan to launch its own mobile operating system called Bada. Bada in Korean means Ocean. By this name Samsung projects the ultimate possibilities of its OS. They have already released the developer tools for Bada OS. Bada powered mobile devices will hit the market by the first quarter of 2010. Thereafter Samsung would drop the use of Windows mobile OS and Symbian OS from their smartphones to replace them with Bada OS. Today we got few screenshots of a Samsung device using the Bada OS. The interface of the OS looks like a combination of Nokia’s Symbian OS V5, Android OS and Samsung TouchWiz. Now the only question is about its supports on hardware and software development perspectives.
We can see several inbuilt applications for accessing social media websites, messaging and for entertainment. Phones including Bada OS will be with smartphone capabilities. We couldn’t notice any other special features from these screenshots. However, in the third screenshot, its shown that the media player is capable of playing .mov movie file usually used in Apple devices. Also its shown that the device running Bada is capable of processing 5.1 channel audio. Official features and sreenshots of Bada OS expected to be published in the coming months.
