SonyEricsson today announced two handsets Elm and Hazel. SonyEricsson Hazel is slider phone, whereas the Elm has candybar design. Both phones are prepared as a part of SonyEricsson Greenheart strategy. That is the Elm and Hazel and few equipment’s of them are designed with great care to reduce the carbon emission and thus to protect environment from hazardous chemicals. The common features of Sony Ericsson Elm and Hazel are the excellent voice quality and 5 MP Autofocus camera. These devices use sound enhancing technologies like Noise Shield, Clear Voice and Intelligent Volume Adaptation. Surprising fact is that they are HD voice ready, for the first time in a SonyEricsson device. SonyEricsson Elm and Hazel come with curved design on one side to fit themselves smoothly on the palm of user.
SonyEricsson Hazel and SonyEricsson Elm similarities:
Both SonyEricsson Elm and Hazel have integration to popular social networking and media sites like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter etc. though widget system. There will be a facility to backup the information of the users to SonyEricsson servers. Users can go online and collect song information with technologies like SensMe and Track ID. Sony Ericsson Hazel specifications:
SonyEricsson Hazel is a touch screen GSM device. Its TFT touch screen measures 2.8 inch in size, available with features like accelerometer. The device includes 280MB internal memory expandable up to 16GB. As said earlier SonyEricsson Hazel includes a 5 mega pixel auto focus camera with video recording, LED flash, face and smile detection.

WiFi, 3G, EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth with A2DP, GPS, USB, FM with RDS, Front camera, Splash resistant body, Noise cancellation on microphone, Mega Bass.
Sony Ericsson Elm specifications:
Elm has a traditional SonyEricsson candybar design that make its display small when compared with Hazel. This TFT display is 2.2 inch in size. There are features like accelerometer sensor and user interface auto rotate. Other than display and non-availability of secondary video camera, the specification of SonyEricsson Elm is almost same as SonyEricsson Hazel.

There is only marginal difference between SonyEricsson Elm and Hazel. The price of Elm will be low as it’s of inferior specs. Elm would cost around 17000 INR in India (350USD) at initial launch. Since there is larger touch screen and features like front video camera and capability to include more memory, the price of SonyEricsson Hazel will be somewhat higher; say around 19000 INR in India (400USD). Sony Ericsson Elm will be launched in the first quarter of 2010, and Hazel in the subsequent quarter.

hazel is not a touch screen, its just a slide. the above specification of touch is wrong. hazel’s present rate is 10000/- and elm’s rate is 9,400/- both would be the best choice at the cheapest rate…..:-)
